Zhone “Paradyne” continues on its path of bringing broadband to the world by expanding the BitStorm IP DSLAM family with the addition of the BitStorm 2600.

BitStorm IP DSLAMs

Zhone “Paradyne’s” BitStorm family of IP stackable DSLAMs have been specifically designed for the delivery of premium voice, video and data services over existing twisted-pair infrastructure.

The BitStorm 2600, the newest version of the BitStorm family, is the first to support the new ADSL2 standard, allowing fully interoperable 12 Mbps bandwidths to the end user. The BitStorm 2600 supports both ADSL and ReachDSL for universal coverage.

Deploying Video with the BitStorm 2600

The BitStorm 2600 contains all the processing capability to deliver at least 3 video streams to the customer premises and the protocol support required to deliver it efficiently. The BitStorm 2600 enables multicast video services to ensure the subscriber can view the best quality video using the DSL access network. IGMP Snooping ensures that only the video streams currently being viewed by customers are transmitted over the DSL link allowing additional bandwidth for data services. In addition, the BitStorm 2600 design ensures that critical subscriber satisfaction items such as the time it takes to change channels exceed industry specifications.

Raptor ATM / IP DSLAM

Raptor DSLAM delivers the next generation of high-performance business and residential DSL services. With Raptor, carriers can offer digital video, high bandwidth Internet access and cell relay services from a single platform.

Raptor is the only DSLAM a carrier needs for deployment anywhere in their network. It supports ADSL2+, VDSL2, and SHDSL loops with ATM, IP and Ethernet uplinks for legacy, overlay and green-field deployments. Raptor allows carriers to deploy the same chassis in CO and Remote Terminal sites in both 3-U and 7-U configurations.

Deployed in the Central Office, Remote Terminal, outdoor cabinets or basements, the Raptor is offered in a range of compact, hardened chassis supporting densities up to 960 ports per shelf with integrated packet ring transport.
